From learning to leadership: My Ericsson story
- A reflection on growth, adaptability, and leading global delivery from India.
- How continuous learning and evolving technology shaped a five-year journey.
I’m Rinky and I'm currently working as a Domain Manager in the Service Delivery Unit in India. After a decade of diverse experience, I joined Ericsson five years ago. My journey here has been truly remarkable, contributing to both my personal and professional development.
Operating from India, we monitor customer networks across the Europe region. I lead a team of professionals with a shared objective of delivering customer satisfaction through automation, error-free delivery, and best-in-class services.
How my career evolved over time
My career journey at Ericsson has been driven by continuous learning. I joined as a Change Manager, and over time I had the opportunity to expand my experience across multiple areas, including problem management, incident management, process management, and audits. I also took on the role of Project Transaction Manager.
These experiences broadened my perspective across delivery, operations, and leadership, helping me grow into my current role.
Along this journey, this exposure learning and development hasve played a critical role. Internal learning platforms such as Degreed enabled me to continuously build new skills and explore growth opportunities. In addition, structured leadership initiatives such as the Catalyst mentorship program, leadership core courses, and leadership simulations helped me to navigate my role transitions.
Growing alongside technology
What I value most about Ericsson is how the company evolves its people alongside its technology. When I joined, the focus was on 4G, 5G standalone, and 5G non-standalone. Today, the conversation has expanded to AI applications, enterprise solutions, cloud-native technologies, and autonomous network operations. These shifts, combined with the work we do every day, continuously push us to grow, adapt, and learn.
What excites me about the future
For me, it's the transformative potential of AI in networks. As we manage networks in my team, I’m especially looking forward to seeing AI applied in network planning, optimisation, and operations. It opens the door to more predictive, self-learning networks, enabling us to innovate faster, improve efficiency, and transform the very way we work in this AI-driven era.
What inclusion means to me
Inclusion means making everyone feel accountable and responsible for their work. It’s about creating an environment where people feel comfortable speaking up, where feedback is considered before decisions are made, and where we grow and learn together. It also means sharing success as a team and learning together from challenges.
Career advice for young talent
The most valuable career advice I’ve ever received came from my husband: "You will see it when you believe it"
It’s a powerful reminder that everything starts with self-belief. Stay positive, stay focused, and trust your journey.
With the right mindset and strong time management you can turn belief into meaningful results
Looking ahead
My journey at Ericsson has been shaped by continuous learning, evolving technology, and strong teamwork. What keeps me motivated is the opportunity to keep growing, adapting, and contributing to meaningful work in a fast-changing environment.
