This edition delves into how the telecom industry is evolving – not just in terms of the technology, but the value that is being created for service providers, users and the entire ecosystem. During 2025, the industry has taken big steps in deploying the 5G standalone (SA) architecture needed to support differentiated connectivity services. Service providers are progressing from network slicing proofs-of-concept toward commercial, tailored service offerings.

November key findings


5G subscriptions now account for one-third of total mobile subscriptions. Mobile network data traffic grew slightly more than expected – 20 percent between Q3 2024 and Q3 2025. As 5G evolves, service providers are increasingly exploring innovative use cases and new monetization opportunities such as offering differentiated connectivity services and modernizing enterprise IT with 5G.  Looking further ahead, the 6G standardization process has begun, with the first commercial launches expected in front-runner markets.
