Ericsson Antenna System contains a complete passive antenna portfolio with leading performance. Indoor and outdoor antennas with up to 24 ports for sector and omnidirectional sites, are part of the portfolio, that also contains street-integrated antennas.
Today's complex antenna systems, including management of the complex mix of multiple standards, bands, and layers on the same radio site, put great demands on the ability to create solutions with stable performance. By using our preferred antenna solutions together with our radios, we provide an excellent selection of quality antennas for any configuration to support communication interoperability and easy plug-and-play solutions.
We have control over the complete RF chain when designing and verifying our radios with antenna system products to guarantee top performance. Compact Trio Net design
The new antennas with compact trio net design maximize network impact by tightly integrating three dimensions: antenna design, radiation pattern and overall system behavior. This coherent architecture delivers higher beam and antenna efficiency, stable 3D patterns and minimized pattern squint across bands, ensuring that more RF energy is converted into useful coverage, capacity and uplink performance.
Network simulations and test campaigns indicate clear, quantifiable gains such as up to +36% higher peak data rates in low+mid band CA scenarios, around +7% higher average throughput at the cell edge, uplink throughput improvements up to +30% in uplink‑limited cases and an overall SINR uplift of about +3.5 dB. These results stem from better FDD mid‑band utilization, improved multi‑layer carrier aggregation and more effective use of higher modulation and MIMO schemes.
Each design choice is evaluated through digital twins, network simulation and scenario‑based testing to maximize overall network impact. Changes in signal distribution, dipole positioning and pattern alignment directly improve antenna and beam efficiency, which in turn boosts performance, supports spectrum densification and reduces total cost of ownership.
